About Helping Heroes
Australia’s only Veteran Rehabilitation Specialist Provider — founded to close a critical gap in care for those who have served.
Our background
Helping Heroes was established in 2014 by Craig Rivett after he identified a clear gap in the market while supporting veterans who could no longer continue serving due to injury. What began as a focused response has grown into a national, specialist provider delivering rehabilitation, injury management and assessment services exclusively to the veteran community and their families.
Headquartered in Norwood, South Australia, we operate nationally with a multidisciplinary employee base of over 50 people and a large national panel of contracted specialist providers. This combination allows us to deliver services in person throughout every state and territory, including regional and remote communities, supported by telehealth where appropriate.
Vision
To be Australia’s leading specialist provider of rehabilitation services for veterans and their families — delivering life-changing outcomes through expert, culturally informed and client-centred care.
Mission
To provide superior quality, proactive and passionate rehabilitation and assessment services that have a life-changing impact on our Veteran clients and their families.
Values
- Veteran-centred — every process and pathway is designed around the needs of those who have served and their families.
- Integrity & equity — we strive for equitable and non-judgemental treatment of all individuals; no one has greater or lesser value.
- Excellence — evidence-based practice, high clinical standards and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration — working closely with veterans, families, GPs, DVA and other providers to achieve the best outcomes.
- Accessibility — national coverage through our employees and contracted panel so location is not a barrier to quality care.
Key contracts & registrations
Helping Heroes holds key contracts and registrations that underwrite our specialist focus:
- DVA Rehabilitation — contracted provider of rehabilitation services for eligible veterans under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
- DVA WASP — contracted under the DVA Whole of Person Assessment and Support Program (WASP).
- Comcare — registered nationally with Comcare to deliver rehabilitation and related services.
- ADFRP — provider of rehabilitation services under the Australian Defence Force Rehabilitation Program.
National panel of contracted providers
In addition to our employed multidisciplinary team (Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Rehabilitation Consultants and Nurses), Helping Heroes maintains a large national panel of contracted specialist providers. This panel enables consistent, high-quality in-person service delivery across metro, regional and remote Australia in every state and territory.
